The Plymouth heroes who earned their Blue Peter badges

The famous and sought-after Blue Peter badges have been awarded to deserving fans since 1963, but how many of us actually achieved the ultimate recognition from our favourite day-time telly stars? For decades the presenters of Blue Peter have encouraged children to make the impossible out of loo roll holders and delve into their creative minds to come up with weird and wonderful stories and song lyrics. If you’re between the ages of six and fifteen you can earn yourself one of seven badges in a number of colours to represent your achievement. These six local people reminisce on the moment they discovered a letter in the post from the BBC hit show, which is celebrating its 60th birthday.
