Vietnamese athlete Truong Thi Phuong successfully brought home the first gold medal on December 7 after finishing first in the 200m women’s canoeing event at the ongoing 30th Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. Earlier on December 6, she also won a gold medal in the women’s 500m event on December 6. In addition to Truong Thi Phuong’s victory, Dinh Thi Hao and Thanh Huyen secured a silver medal in the women’s lightweight double sculls while Le Mau Truong and Phan Manh Linh did enough to bag a bronze medal in the men’s doubles sculls event. Elsewhere, Nguyen Anh Tu and Doan Ba Tuan Anh have made it through to the finals of the men’s table tennis double event following their win over their Malaysian rivals with a score of 3-1. VOV
