I don't see our company having to change anytime soon," just as a Covid-19 wrecking ball hits the building. This about sums up what has been happening with many companies across the world after the pandemic shut down, well, everything. The unprecedented crisis, however, is also helping vault us "five years forward in consumer and business digital adoption in a matter of around eight weeks", states a McKinsey report. As social distancing norms are strictly enforced, companies are scrambling to put in place digitisation and automation protocols. The India story falls somewhere in the middle. In the Asia Pacific region, India is one of the top three digital adapters for hardware, along with Japan and China, but we are farther down the list in implementing software and automation, despite the over 560 million Internet users in the country (about 50% of our population).
