Brits are being warned to wrap up warm as temperatures are set to plunge this week and snow could arrive as soon as Wednesday. It is due to be the coldest week of autumn yet and the mercury will continue to tumble throughout November with temperatures below average in the second half of the month. Forecasters have said there could be a carpet of snow for parts of the country on Wednesday and temperatures will struggle to top 10C. WxCharts is anticipating that the coldest weather will be in Scotland and northern England with around an inch of snow possible in the Highlands around Inverness in mid-week. The snow is set to head south and could reach Carlisle by the early evening on Wednesday and freezing temperatures mean it could well hang around until the weekend.
