Share to Twitter Share to Linkedin Carving out marketshare and in a crowded market such as SSD storage plus getting brand recognition is no easy feat, but Solidigm, owned by SK Hynix and what used to be Intel’s storage arm, is doing just that. Today we’re looking at the company’s latest SSD – the P44 Pro. You probably couldn’t get a more bland-sounding name for potentially an extremely fast SSD, but it’s aiming to topple the likes of Samsung’s 990 Pro and WD’s SN850X, both in terms of performance and value, which is no easy task as both SSDs are incredibly fast and the SN850X at least has been great value too. Solidigm certainly seems to be nailing it in terms of price because at $189.99 for the 2TB model, that comnpares to the WD Black SN850X at $229.99 and Samsung 990 Pro at $289.99 – both are significantly more. All are PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSDs and all three offer the same five year warranty that includes an endurance rating of 1,200TBW for the 2TB model.
