The six-core 12-thread Ryzen 5 5600X trails the Core i9-10900K with the native game code, but the fix speeds up the game by a whopping 23%. We can also see that this improves the chips' performance across the full sweep of fps percentiles, indicating that the game runs much smoother as a result. In fact, the faster gameplay and improved smoothness were very noticeable during our test runs. We also noticed much faster game loads, particularly at higher resolutions. … [Read more...] about Cyberpunk 2077 Bug Bulldozes AMD Ryzen: Here’s a Fix, Tested (Updated)

The best processors for 2021
The best entry-level processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 The successor to our favorite budget CPU, the Ryzen 5 3600 is an astounding achievement for AMD. It enjoys the same Zen 2 architecture improvements as the rest of the Ryzen 3000 range, and the same six cores and 12 threads as its more expensive sibling, the 3600X. Yet while its clock speed falls behind its new-generation brethren, AMD’s automated overclocking gets it very close in performance to its bigger brothers at a much-reduced cost. But it does it all for under $200. … [Read more...] about The best processors for 2021

AMD Announces Ryzen 5000 Mobile ‘Cezanne’ Processors, Zen 3 and Overclocking Comes to Laptops
AMD's 7nm Radeon Vega graphics engine touts up to 59% more performance per CU (compute unit) than the first-gen 14nm Vega, which previously allowed the company to use 8 CUs instead of 11. We don't know any other details about the integrated graphics engine, like the graphics clock rates or core (CU) counts for the various SKUs, but AMD says it will share more info in technical briefings as we come closer to the launch next month. … [Read more...] about AMD Announces Ryzen 5000 Mobile ‘Cezanne’ Processors, Zen 3 and Overclocking Comes to Laptops
AMD CEO Lisa Su Talks: Chip Shortages, Tariffs, GPUs, and More Cores
Lisa Su discussed the timeline for a recovery, saying, "Paul, we are shipping a lot of parts. Volumes are continuing to increase, and that's across gaming graphics as well as CPUs. We expect that to continue to happen through 2021. I think there will be tightness, certainly through the first half of the year, but we continue to ship more into our OEM partners, as well as our general partners, to increase the overall supply. We completely [understand] why consumers want more, and so it's very high on the priority list to have supply catch up to demand." Su also clarified that the company isn’t prioritizing OEM customers over the PC builders. Instead, the company is prioritizing in real time to balance supply. … [Read more...] about AMD CEO Lisa Su Talks: Chip Shortages, Tariffs, GPUs, and More Cores
