AMD's previous-gen chips rarely, if ever, sell at their recommended price points, so it's logical to assume that the company will reduce the official recommended customer pricing (RCP) of its existing parts. The Ryzen 9 3900X and Ryzen 7 3800X can often be found at retail for ~$60 lower than RCP, while the Ryzen 5 3600X often retails ~$50 below AMD's recommendations. The company has long maintained that these lower prices aren't the result of official price cuts, instead being at the discretion of retailers, so any reduction in the RCP could equate to even lower prices at retail. The Intel Core i5 model still comes with four cores, plenty of processing power to handle heavy multitasking, web applications, and some light Photoshop work. This model currently goes for $1,274 on Dell’s online storefront, $26 off the $1,300 “estimated value.” … [Read more...] about Dell XPS 15 buying guide 2020: How to choose processor, RAM, display, and more
Looking at the XPS 17 keyboard, it has something its younger sibling, the XPS 13, does not. Instead of sporting an edge-to-edge keyboard, the keyboard is in the middle of the laptop on the XPS 17, surrounded by speaker grills. The keycaps are also much larger than before, and there is the addition of larger left and right arrow keys. As for the touchpad, it is much larger than the ones found on the XPS 13 and XPS 15. It’s also centered right in the middle for ease of access and to guard against accidental clicks when resting your hands on the palm rest. … [Read more...] about Dell XPS 17 vs. MacBook Pro 16-inch: Which big laptop reigns supreme?
