How bright is the YABER Y30 compared to the competition? Well, for context the average projector (short throw or otherwise) runs between 2,500 and 3,200 lumens. There’s no hard science to officially determine lumens, so the difference between 2,500 and 3,200 can be negligible based on the unit. There’s a distinction between those numbers and the YABER Y30’s 6,800 lumens, however. Images from the YABER Y30 pop because of its brightness alone. … [Read more...] about The best short-throw projectors

The most common motherboard problems, and how to fix them
No case power button connection The power button on a computer’s case connects to the motherboard through a small, thin two-pin wire. Without this important but easy-to-miss connection, your computer won’t start. That’s because the motherboard never receives the command to do so if you press the power button when the wire isn’t connected to the proper pins on your motherboard. Hard to believe that a bent or misaligned pin could cause you so much grief, but with a steady hand and steely resolve, this issue can be remedied. Note that attempting to straighten pins can easily cause them to break and require you to replace components like your CPU, so think long and hard before trying it yourself. … [Read more...] about The most common motherboard problems, and how to fix them
Lenovo ThinkPad 13 Ultrabook review
The keyboard layout is standard. The top row defaults to functions like volume and brightness, but you can use the “Function Lock” keystroke to switch this if you’d like the “F” keys to be the default. Other than that, the only unusual part of the layout is the location of the “Page Up” and “Page Down” keys. They’re above the left and right arrow keys respectively, a logical enough place when you think about it. Overall, it won’t take users long to get used to this keyboard, and they’ll probably love it once they do. … [Read more...] about Lenovo ThinkPad 13 Ultrabook review

Kia reportedly put in charge of developing Apple’s first car
Viewed in this light, creating an Apple-only platform would represent a colossal waste of money. Building the iCar on a state-of-the-art Hyundai-Kia platform developed specifically for the type of use that Apple has in mind (to underpin an electric and highly automated car) makes sense, and it would allow both sides to leverage the benefits of economies of scale. Of course, that’s assuming Kia is indeed developing an Apple car that will launch soon. … [Read more...] about Kia reportedly put in charge of developing Apple’s first car
