A Moroccan woman living in New York has filed a lawsuit claiming her Staten Island landlord discriminated against her, stole her property, and eventually evicted her illegally, after learning she was a Muslim. In a civil complaint filed Wednesday in federal court, Hasna Jalal alleges the trouble started in September 2015, a few days after Jalal began renting the third floor of a townhouse owned by her landlord MaryLou Shanahan in the Eltingville neighborhood of Staten Island. Jalal was speaking on the phone with her family in Arabic when Shanahan began to bang on the door and shout. "I don't need anyone speaking Arabic in my house! You're scaring the neighbors!" Suspected Paris terror attack mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud killed in police raids
French prosecutors confirmed this morning that the suspected mastermind behind last Friday's Paris attacks, Abdelhamid Abaaoud, was killed in the raid on a Paris apartment yesterday. French police conducted the raids in the Paris suburb of Saint-Denis early Wednesday morning. Authorities were searching for Abaaoud, the 26-year-old from Belgium linked to the Islamic State and who is suspected of being one of the key players in the attacks that killed 129 people in Paris last Friday. They said this morning that his bodied had been found in the rubble at the site of the raid, riddled with bullets. “The brain of these attacks – or at least one of them, if we remain cautious – was among those dead.
