We haven't seen any plausible iPhone 8 photo leaks just yet, but Apple's long-rumored curved design could end up looking like this brand new phone out of China. The Honor Magic is the latest Android smartphone from the Huawei brand, and its curved 5.09-inch screen helps it stand out even more than the shiny Honor 8.It's a real head-turner thanks to its noticeably curved AMOLED display on the right and left sides, reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.To literally top it off, the top of the Honor Magic also appears to bend inward. This is a a lot like the distinct 2.5D glass on the LG G5.Honor's 'Magic' revealedThere's a bit more to the Honor Magic than its 3D-glass good looks that are ripe for Apple's picking. We now have full specs and software details. It has the familiar Hisilicon Kirin 950 chipset, boasting an octacore processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB or internal storage, according to the Honor website. We found all of these identical specs to be speedy enough in our Honor 8 review, … [Read more...] about This Chinese phone looks like a brilliantly curved iPhone 8 concept

This year, the all-screen iPhone X was the out-there design of Apple's new iPhones. Next year, it could serve as the model. Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI analyst known for his Apple insights, speculates that Apple may release three iPhones in 2018 with full-screen designs like the iPhone X. The predictions were made in a research note later obtained by MacRumors.According to the note, the iPhones could come in three different sizes:A 5.8-inch phone with an OLED display (similar to the iPhone X).A 6.5-inch phone with an OLED display (like an iPhone X Plus).A 6.1-inch phone with an LCD display. While the two OLED iPhones are predicted to appeal to high-end phone buyers, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone may be the most affordable option of the group. Kuo predicts that the LCD iPhone may start around $649 to $749 (about £495-£570 or AU$850-AU$980), which is around the price range of an iPhone 8. Although the OLED iPhones are predicted to get better specs and hardware, all three of … [Read more...] about Next year’s three iPhones could all look like the iPhone X
Editor's note: This story was co-written by CNET staffers Donald Bell, Greg Sandoval, Josh Lowensohn, Kent German, and Scott Stein. Most Apple watchers figure very little will change at Steve Jobs' company over the next few years. There's plenty of product plans in the works and his executive team--with a few exceptions--looks set for the next few years. The real question is what happens after that, when the plans that will be made without Jobs in Apple's corner office begin to bear fruit, or languish. The company, which has grown to become the second-most valuable in the world following Jobs' return in 1996, has made a big part of its business the promise of the future. New products like the iPod, iPhone, and iPad have set Apple apart from being just another Silicon Valley hardware and software maker and into a taste maker. Much of that taste has been attributed to Jobs, whose attention to detail and focus on secrecy has been the stuff of legend. A Jobs anecdote shared by Google's … [Read more...] about What could Apple look like three years from now?
How red is red? The new "Product Red" iPhone 8 and 8 Plus won't arrive until this Friday, but I was able to get a sneak peek earlier Tuesday in New York. And I brought along last year's Product Red iPhone 7 Plus to compare. And believe it or not, there is a difference. I don't really get excited about phone colors, truly. But some people do. And the Product Red phone does give some money to a good cause. So, here's what the new red phones are like in person. First off, the new red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus models have black fronts, as opposed to the white on the previous models. But the whole feel is a little more dramatic this time. The red on the back is darker, too, depending on the angle, and the glossy touch makes it look even more slick than it does in the photo. Black on red just works a lot better than white on red (for me at least: this is subjective). I'd probably pick this color over black, white or gold. 42 Hands-on with Apple's new red iPhone 8 and 8 Plus And this year's … [Read more...] about Here’s what the red iPhone 8 looks like in real life
