At its heart, Beagle V is still an SBC and as such it has what we come to think as the "standard complement" of ports. With four USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, Micro SD card and a single HDMI port, capable of 1080P 30fps. A 40 pin GPIO suggests compatibility with Raspberry Pi HATs, and a casual glance at the pinout shows that the standard digital I/O, I2C and SPI seem to be mapped correctly. Dual camera (CSI) and a single display connector (DSI) suggest that Beagle V may be compatible with the official Raspberry Pi camera and display. Wireless connectivity is provided via 2.4 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2. A shame that 5 GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 are not present, but we can live without it. Power is provided via a USB-C port, and from the datasheet we can see that Beagle V requires 5V at 2A but a 3A supply would be a real benefit. … [Read more...] about RISC-V Powered BeagleV Board Announced Via New Collaboration

MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Sea Hawk With 240mm Radiator
The custom hybrid liquid cooling system uses a special copper cold plate with micro fins that covers not only the GPU, but also GDDR6X memory (albeit using thermal pads), which could help with VRAM overclocking. The copper base is equipped with Asetek's low-profile pump that circulates warm liquid back to the 240mm radiator with two MSI Torx 4.0 120-mm fans. The third fan — which is located on the graphics card itself — helps to cool down the board's voltage regulating modules (VRMs) to further improve overclocking potential of the product. … [Read more...] about MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Sea Hawk With 240mm Radiator
The best strategy games
There are different ways that developer Introversion Software reinforces that. Instead of giving you a highly detailed map of the world, you stay at the same radar scan shown in the screenshot above. You’re not playing as an omniscient commander, either, but rather a U.S. general buried deep in an underground bunker staring at a screen, making decisions about if millions will live or die from relative safety. DEFCON isn’t a fun game, but it is an engrossing one. It’s a game that shows what could have happened during the Cold War, fit with the psychological warfare that very few strategy games touch on. … [Read more...] about The best strategy games
Nvidia Mulls Restarting Cryptomining GPU Production
But before making such chips available to add-in-board (AIB) manufacturers, GPU designers need to figure out the total available market that they are trying to address so they don't bin chips that aren't needed. Before that happens, GPU developers may just enjoy additional demand for their products. … [Read more...] about Nvidia Mulls Restarting Cryptomining GPU Production
