Since 1985, Windows has always shipped with a basic image-editing program: Paint. For MacOS, there’s no native equivalent, whether you’re running the latest version or an older one. Apple removed MacPaint long ago. However, Apple’s default app for opening images, PDFs, and other files — called Preview — comes close.  It doesn’t mirror Microsoft Paint, but it has a few editing tools, like drawing, adding text, and inserting shapes. Most people don’t know these features exist because they’re hidden behind a button they never think to click. Keep in mind that Preview doesn’t allow you to create new artwork from scratch like Microsoft’s Paint — there’s no blank canvas. Whether it’s via Zoom, Microsoft Skype, Microsoft Teams, or some other solution, the ability to work with colleagues and teams virtually yet face-to-face has never been so important. Growing up, many of us were told that playing computer or video games was a waste of time. However, when it comes to training artificial intelligence, not only is it not a waste of time, but it could be key to developing the intelligent agents of tomorrow. Several years ago, researchers from Google DeepMind impressively demonstrated that cutting-edge A.I. could be used to master several classic Atari games, without being explicitly taught how to play them. Since then, multiple researchers have tried their hand at reinforcement learning systems that use trial and error to learn how to master games. What a difference a year makes, especially for 5G. The new mobile network tech, which seemed almost futuristic a year ago, is widely available today, especially in big cities where the 5G rollout has been prioritized. As such, the AT&T 5G network has expanded and covers more than 14,000 cities and towns throughout the U.S. (see our 5G coverage map for details). If you have 5G coverage, it’s likely on a sub-6 network, which is more available right now. Sub-6 relies on lower frequencies to deliver a larger wireless network, but with a tradeoff in speed, which may be only marginally faster than 4G. Another 5G variant called mmWave (millimeter wave), differs in that the network’s radio waves are much faster than sub-6 networks, offering multi-gigabit speeds at various points.
